Do It Yourself!

Print   |   Write   |   Distribute

If you don't live in Loudoun County, VA, you can bring Love for All to your home with these simple steps!

1. Click the button below to download the card template.

2. Print the template for as many notes as you would like to write. You are able to write 2 notes per template. So, if you want to write 10 notes, you would print 5 templates. We recommend printing on cardstock if available, but most at home printers cannot print on cardstock. Regular paper works great, but notes might be slightly more damaged by the elements once left outside. Please note that the template is made for 8.5 in. x 11 in. paper.

3. Cut down the vertical central line of each template printed. You should now have two long sheets of paper per template, with a note on the top and a note on the bottom. The note on the top is the note you write on. The note on the bottom is the one you attach to the note you write so someone can pass a message forward if they choose.

4. Now, it is time to write! You collect messages from large groups using a google form, or you can just create a bunch of kind messages yourself! Just make sure you are following the guidelines listed at the bottom of this page all-year around.

5. Once you have written all of your notes to be passed out, you have two options to attach the extra note to pass forward. The first option is simply folding along the creased line and allowing the person who receives the note to cut it themselves. The second option is you cut it off yourself, and attach it to the note you wrote with a paperclip. Either way works, but we have found cutting and paperclipping may make passing the note forward more accessible to a note recipient.

6. Now, it is time to distribute your notes! Find a parking lot and choose some cars to leave your notes on. This is not illegal in the United States as long as you do not damage the car, are trespassing on private property, or have written anything that could be considered harassment in your note. When choosing a parking lot, the easiest and most convenient option is a shopping center or mall parking lot. These are public places where people from many different walks of life are present. Do not worry if you do not have a note for every single parked car! This is very hard in most modern parking lots since there are so many spots. You can always come back another day with more notes!
